Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

"“Easily one of the best days we had in India!” 31 March 2015 Rajeev was our personal tour guide and we couldn't have asked for a more personalized day. We finally felt comfortable venturing our and eating the ""real deal"" street food, which we had deliberately avoided previously to prevent getting sick. This was some of the best food, best sightseeing and best local company we could have asked for. We ultimately ended up walking down streets which wouldn't have been considered without the guide, rode a camel and tasted some very interesting and wonderful food/drinks. Thank you for this experience, Rajeev. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r262889000-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

“Made our time in India wonderful!” We spent our entire three days in India with Food Tours in Delhi at the end of March 2015. One day was primarily a food tour, one day was more sightseeing (but we were taken to an amazing restaurant for lunch and late day snack!) and the third day was a sunrise trip to Agra. We were very happy with our experience and it was a great way to see Delhi and be introduced to India. We love food and it was fabulous to experience the local cuisine in small hidden locations with Jaidev. We would never have gone to these places without Food Tours in Delhi. We tried food that was unique, delicious and unanticipated. We are a family of four with two children ages 4 and 8. Although the kids didn’t find much that they liked to eat in Delhi, Jaidev and his guides worked hard to accommodate us, were flexible with the itinerary and trying to find foods that the kids liked. We would definitely do it again and would recommend this tour for others. Jaidev is extremely quick to respond by email and is excellent with communication. He clearly has mastered the ins and outs of Old Delhi which would have been an impossible, chaotic maze for us without him. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r266042376-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

"“Unbelievable! I highly recommend Rajeev and this tour.” 21 March 2015 I don't really have the words to describe what I experienced in one day in Delhi with Rajeev and his team as our guides. I felt that we really had an inside experience. Yes, the food was wonderful, but the tour itself also included all the possible types of public transportation you could take in Delhi. That was an added bonus. Rajeev's insights into Indian culture through cuisine culminated in a visit to a Sikh temple that I am sure I will take with me for the rest of my life. This was the first day of an organized bus tour with a Norwegian group, and it gave us a fantastic start. I HIGHLY recommend this tour. Rajeev really knows what he is doing! Rajeev, I wish you the best of luck with your business. I think this will be a great success. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r260847198-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

"“amazing tour” It is one of the best thing to do in Delhi. We had lot of fun while we were eating delicious food. The guides were so nice, explain about indian´s food and places we were visiting. Also they gave us advices about food in Rajastan, what would be the next stop for us. I recomend 100% do this tour. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r261144554-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

"“Great day in Delhi” 24 March 2015 Do not hesitate - book this tour now. I have done many tours all over the world and this was one of the best. You will eat 15+ different dishes, meet proprietors, learn about the history and culture, and visit a Sikh temple that intersects with the food world in a very infesting way. Great, great host and a truly enjoyable and memorable day! http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r261377853-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

"“Great tour by Jaidev!” 26 March 2015 This was an absolutely great food tour. Jaidev, our guide, took us around to so many different food stalls and restaurants all over Old Delhi that we would not have otherwise known to visit on our own. Not only was he able to share a lot of food knowledge with us, but he also taught us a lot about the city and its history. He handled all of our transportation and even took us to see the amazing kitchens of a Sikh Temple. And most importantly, all of the food we tried was delicious and unique! We would not hesitate to book this tour again. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r261882815-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

"“Great way to see Delhi!” 31 March 2015 My family (wife and 5-year-old daughter) recently did a half day food tour of Old Delhi and had a wonderful experience. We love Indian food and were eager to try the famous Indian ""street food."" This tour was a perfect way to try a variety of authentic foods in carefully selected local hotspots that have been serving their unique food for generations. Our guide was very knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge of the city's culinary culture and history. It was also a great way to see a part of the city that we otherwise would not have seen. "“Great way to see real Delhi” 16 April 2015 We were recommended this tour by a friend who had taken part previously. We thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the food. We were part of a very small group so we learnt a lot about each place we went. Jaidev, our guide, was superb and extremely knowledgeable of Delhi, and even sent us an email afterwards with very useful foody suggestions for our next stop in Jaipur. One thing I would advise people to do is avoid Sundays as we missed out on a few places that were closed, but overall a really enjoyable experience. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r265978769-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

"“Why would you not do this while in Delhi??!” If I had not seen the Taj Mahal during this trip, this food tour would easily be the best part of our stay in India. There are other food tours in India but based on TripAdvisor reviews I settled on this one. I also liked their website. So ordering is pretty easy, you pay online. I was a little nervous about doing that but after the experience there is really no reason for that. I selected Food Tour in Old Delhi because I know we probably would not be able to navigate that part of Delhi on our own. It was $200 USD for 2 people. The company said that if we add New Delhi to the tour, it would add about 1.5-2 hours but same cost so we did that. You know, because we love love to eat. So why not? I ordered mine 2 months in advance so communication was a little off in the beginning. I started getting nervous when I would not get response from the company via email. I called their number and did not get a hold of anybody. So just sharing my experience in case this happens to you. But then again I am little obsessive compulsive so take this with a grain of salt LOL. In the end however it did not matter because everything turned out perfectly. We got picked up from our Delhi hotel. The driver knew very little English and we were wary of getting into some stranger's car. But he showed us his cell phone with message from the company and our names, so that was fine. We picked up another lady from another hotel and that made it even more legit, and made us felt better. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r267734799-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT We met our tour guide Jaidev later and he rode in the car with us to Old Delhi. So you have to be prepared for Old Delhi. For me, it is exactly the kind of place I just love to visit. Old, not the cleanest, chaotic, colorful, historic and full of life. If you are not the adventurous kind this may not be the tour for you. We just LOVED the whole experience! It was Sunday so a lot of shops in the market were closed but it was still so many people and shops. I can only imagine what it is like when they are all open! We also visited the Spice market. We tasted so many foods, visited so many food stands. Sometimes it was just one person cooking food. We went to some restaurants also. We rode a bicycle cab throughout Old Delhi as that made the most sense in light of the crazy traffic. We walked everywhere, discovered little gems, spaces, alleys, neighborhoods. Amazing! Jaidev was so knowledgeable and navigated everything perfectly. He had hand sanitizer so hygience and food safety was also a priority. By the way, we never got sick from any of the food. No Delhi belly! We also stopped at Sikh temple (Bangla) where they feed the homeless and got to see people cooking in the kitchen. That was really great. We then drove to New Delhi and tasted more food. I love Indian food so this whole tour was just heaven. Although be forewarned.. you will be really really full. Try not to finish the dishes you sample.. this will allow for maximum tastings LOL. Then we were dropped off at our hotel. Jaidev didn't even take our tip! We did tip the driver. Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this walking food tour. We learned so much, saw so many things, and ate the best food. What an amazing experience! "

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

"True Delhi!” If you area foodie and only have 12 hours to spent in Delhi then this is most likely the best way to spend it! On this tour Jaidev allows you to experience real Delhi from a local's perspective. The food is phenomenal to say the least and you would definitely not just stumble across the places Jaidev brought us to. The tour involved being driven around in Jaidev's car and also getting the odd 'Delhi Helicopter' when streets were narrow and very crowded. This way we got round to all the good spots with relative ease. A lot to be said for that in India! Aside from Jaidev's wealth of food knowledge he also told us plenty of very interesting non-food facts etc on India/Delhi. The night after the tour we returned to the family run restaurant that Jaidev brought us to because it was so good. Local, cheap and probably the best meal we had in India! Out of our three weeks in India, this tour was our highlight - and that includes seeing the Taj :-) http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r266251329-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

This food tour is a food walk and city tour in one compact package which is a great thing to do if you have 5-6 hours to spare. The guests discover the culinary delights of Old Delhi and New Delhi from some of the most famous food joints of the city. Some of them have been in business for more than 100 years. In addition to food, the guests also get the chance to see a number of hidden corners of the city which normal tourists don't really know about. The itinerary and food items included can be tailored to suit the dietary requirements of the guests. During the food walk, guests visit 8-10 food joints and taste 18-19 different dishes including one full fledged meal at the end. Once the guests are finished with Old Delhi, we get in to the car to explore New Delhi and it's food. Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

“Must do when in India” I took 15 of my friends from the US, Spain and Germany on this tour the day before my wedding and it was definitely a highlight for everyone. It was incredibly well organized and efficient for such a large group making the rounds in Old Delhi and beyond. The food was all fantastic and there were things I had never eaten or not seen since I was a child. The sites were all places you would not be likely to see on your own. I did have some problems securing the deposit that had to be made due to the size of my group, primarily because the deposit has to be wired through a bank, which I was nervous about (although I shouldnt have been) However, outside of that, it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it!! I even recommended it to my cousins who are locals because it was such a fun group activity. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r269823417-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

“Do this in Delhi....” We took the 6 hour tour, next time we will do the 9 hour tour. An excellent way to see old Delhi and taste things you probably wouldn't dare to try. Raj was a great character, vibrant, interesting and a real foodie. The whole experience was a treat. Raj took the time to answer any question, on our part really helped us as my wife has some food allergies and he took great care in making sure she avoided any discomfort. She thought she'd just go along for the ride but ended up trying everything. The temple kitchen visit was amazing. All of the food and drinks were delicious and we even went back on our own in search of the cookie man. We used Raj's recommendations for restaurants in Delhi and Udaipur and loved them in both places. Many Thanks and Congratulations..... http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r272001994-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

Review of Indian Food Tours in Delhi

“Best way to SAFELY try it all! ” Traveling can be a bit scary when it comes to trying new foods, especially in India with the much talked about "Delhi belly." I love indian food and wanted to try really authentic, not served in America, Indian dishes. This was the best tour for exactly that! Door to door service, rickshaw rides, markets, and the best kept secret (for tourists) food vendors. The afternoon was full of laughs, amazing food and tons of sightseeing! I walked through parts of the city I would never have explored on my own! And what a shame that would have been! A photographer joined us on the trip which was an added bonus! Now I will get pictures of the experience other than my few selfies! Most important: my stomach was perfect! "“Just more than perfect!” My first time in Indian and travelling alone, I was in Delhi for a few days and wanted to visit and experience the Old Delhi. Of course, loving Indian dishes, food safety was as well a must. What a great choice the food tour was ! Just amazing ! Nothing to do with usual food you would have in most Indian Restaurents, this was a real experience of sublime food you can get in a rich cultural place like Old Delhi. Jaidev was just very good, guiding me through spectacular places and street food stand that no one can find without being so well guided like I was. I had absolutely no issue with the food and the 6 hrs tour was a perfect balance of cultural visit, walking in spectacular Old Delhi, meeting with locals and of course, tasting up to 20 different dishes all excellent. Truly recommend ! http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r288079963-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT Visited June 2015"

"“Nervous eater well and truly converted!” 21 March 2015 When I go travelling, I am always super cautions about what I eat and where so when my husband suggested a 4 hour street food tour of old Delhi I was, putting it mildly, petrified! However, I am always up for a challenge and like to face my fears so agreed. We were met by Jaidev at the station as planned and what proceeded can only be described as a heavenly foodie adventure through the streets. We went to places you would never find on your own, down back alleys, all very safe I might add, ate from street traders, stalls, stands and more permanent eateries. I ate in 5 of the 8 places we stopped at but my husband went for it, eating everything he was given! Jaidev was not only a very good and informative guide, he carrier wet wipes and sanitiser gel for good measure. A couple of tips to add, avoid days around Holi festival if you can, some of the places to eat were closed already for the holiday plus you will be targeted by playful kids with water balloons and pistols! Also, there is so much food to try so pace yourselves, it might taste delicious but you can pretty much count on the fact the next place you stop will be as delicious, if not more so. We would absolutely highly recommend this experience and in case you are interested, neither one of us suffered from any kind of Delhi belly either, good times. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r260817793-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

Also, there is so much food to try so pace yourselves, it might taste delicious but you can pretty much count on the fact the next place you stop will be as delicious, if not more so. We would absolutely highly recommend this experience and in case you are interested, neither one of us suffered from any kind of Delhi belly either, good times. http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r260817793-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT"

“Beyond expectations” My husband and I had an incredible tour through old delhi - tried so many different foods from local, family owned, hole in the wall places that we would never have found on our own. Jaidev took all the guess work out of it and went above and beyond to show us foods we had heard of - even organised our train ticket home. This food tour makes me want to do one in every city I go to. Highly recommend!!! http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r262643969-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

"“Amazing Food tour in Old Delhi” If you want to do an amazing food tour, just pick this tour! Our food tour was with Jaidev and it was amazing. It is worth every penny. Pick up and drop off are hassle free. Jaidev is a great guide, very relaxed and knowledgable. Old Delhi can be a very crazy place, would be almost inpossible to navigate through the restaurants and shops without a guide. All the food we tasted was amazing, We sampled a very large number of dishes including, various curry dishes, chutneys, ice cream, paranthas, yogurt drink, somosas, etc.. You will not go home hungry! We also toured a Sihk temple, had a rickshaw ride, toured the spice market, it was a full day. It was the highlights of our tour to Delhi, if not our trip to India! http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3879008-r275329585-Indian_Food_Tours_in_Delhi-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT "
